our research.

Our current research program is driven by the following question: How can new and innovative cataloguing, dissemination, and pedagogical strategies be effectively used to position black cultural production centrally within discourses of contemporary art and culture?

As part of this research, we hope to build a digital Platform to consolidate contemporary art exhibition archives scattered across the country, currently not readily accessible to the public and make it discoverable. We have partnered with each of the organizations below to take part in three iterative phases of the project — recovery of the data, co-creation of metadata with users, and development of algorithms to drive the platform.
